A town unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu decided to pay its tributes to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans, martyred in the February 14 Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, instead of putting their pictures, the party unit put up pictures of slain Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) terrorists.
BJP MP Subramanian Swamy took to Twitter to highlight the goof up. “I saw a media circulated BJP’s poster of 42 jawans who were said to be martyrs of Pulwama. But media persons informed me theses were all photos of killed LTTE terrorists!! BJP HQ better get this right and dissolve that unit of town BJP,” Swamy tweeted.

According to The Quint, the place where this poster was put in Tamil Nadu by the BJP unit is not known.
The Quint also reported that the same goof up was observed in other parts of the state as well including, Tiruvannamalai district’s Vandavasi, In Coimbatore district’s Udayampalayam etc.
The posters were put up in Tiruvannamalai district’s Vandavasi by a workers’ union and by workers from actor Rajinikanth’s Rajini Makkal Mandram in Coimbatore district’s Udayampalayam.

It is certain the people in the photos are not the martyred CRPF jawans from the Pulwama attack.
Their photos were tweeted out from the official handle of the CRPF on February 15 and no where do they match the ones in the other poster put out by the BJP unit.
